Stretching is one of the most underestimated free luxuries in the world. Stretching has a bad rap and sometimes can cause injury if it's done forcefully or when the body is cold. It is a simple, gentle, gratifying exploration that we should all experience. Once again, it gets down to moving your body, having a relationship with yourself. Lengthening your body and easing it into release is the hardest part about R4YL! Technique. Letting go. No forcing. Relaxing. Letting the body stretch itself. Stretching after the bike, when the body is warm, is the best time. Yup, you can get on the bike cold. The upper body movements we talked about are sufficient to warm you up initially. Since the legs tend to be so strong, and there is no impact going on, they will not be at risk of injury. Because R4YL! wakes up your metabolism, we can get to the muscles a lot more intensely after the bike, when you are responsive, ready and awake. We only have a certain amount of time for stretching. The technique will guide you to the awareness necessary for enlightening, enjoyable stretching. For now, do it after the bike. Little by little you will be able to do it whenever you choose. You will be finding ways to sneak in your body breathers. It's a quick fix. The stretching video, R4YL!: The stretches, along with breathing can be easily done throughout your day, with your kids, or your colleagues, partner or dog. There is no wrong time to be conscious of your body and what it is doing. R4YL! Technique encourages feeling and understanding, as well as an increase in flexibility, balance, strength, length, tension and relief -- all in a matter of seconds! Yes, that fast. Remember, R4YL! is all about efficiency and time management. Now big breath in, and exhale the spine long. This will make sense. |
